The Truth About Salvation

(What Must I Do To Be Saved?)

Please read and meditate on the following information.  This topic is very important.
All passages from this document have been taken from the New International Version Bible.
We must obey God and not man. The Bible is the word of God and the Judge. If you can not find it in the word of God, then you cannot say it is from God.  These are not our words, but God’s words.  Please study the following passages from the word of God:

 John 12:47-50

47 "As for the person who hears my words but does not keep them, I do not judge him. For I did not come to judge the world, but to save it. 48 There is a judge for the one who rejects me and does not accept my words; that very word which I spoke will condemn him at the last day. 49 For I did not speak of my own accord, but the Father who sent me commanded me what to say and how to say it. 50 I know that his command leads to eternal life. So whatever I say is just what the Father has told me to say."Note: If the Son of God (Jesus) was very careful not to change the word of God, then we should have the same desire to preach only what is the word of God.

Galatians 1:6-9

No Other Gospel
6 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— 7 which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned! As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let him be eternally condemned!

Note: If we are preaching a gospel other than then one which is in the bible, we will be eternally condemned!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Acts 17:11

11 Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.Note: If the Bereans examined the scriptures to make sure Paul was preaching the truth, then we need to examine the scriptures to make sure our leaders are preaching the truth.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1 Corinthians 15:1-2

1 Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2 By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.
Note:  If you want to be saved you must hold firmly to the word of God, not the teaching of man.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Revelation 22:18-19

18 I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book. 19 And if anyone takes words away from this book of prophecy, God will take away from him his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.Note:  You want to be very careful not to add or change the word of God.

Matthew 7:13-14
The Narrow and Wide Gates
13 "Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.
Note:  Are you one of the few?

“The Truth About Salvation”
Many people believe you can obtain salvation by saying "The Sinner's Prayer".  It goes something like this:  “Jesus, I believe you are the son of God, died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead.  I turn from my sins and invite you to become Savior and Lord of my Life. Amen.”

This prayer does not allow ones sins to be forgiven.  Yes, it covers belief, confession and repentance.  However, one part has been omitted.  No where is the person baptized in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  Let us examine the scriptures to find the truth about salvation.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Matthew 28:18-20

18 Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[a] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

Note: Just before Jesus went back to heaven he told the disciples to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.  In the sinners pray this part is omitted.  Are you going to obey Jesus or man?  I hope and pray you choose JESUS.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Acts 2:38-42

38 Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call."  40 With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, "Save yourselves from this corrupt generation." 41 Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day

Note: Once the Jews realized that they put the Son of God on the cross.  And Jesus had died for there sins they wanted to know what they should do to get right with God.  Since they believed and Confessed that Jesus was the Son of God, Peter only told them to Repent and be baptized for the forgiveness of SIN.  The promise of salvation through belief, confession, repentance and baptism is for all whom the Lord our God would call (vs. 39).  Both repentance and baptism are required.  Peter was a disciple of Jesus Christ; therefore he knew what one must do to be saved.  He did not tell them to say a sinner’s prayer.  Do you want to obey Peter (a discipline of Jesus Christ) or some other man who was not with Jesus?  Praying Christ into your heart for salvation IS NOT in the Bible.  Some people us

Romans 10:9

"9 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."

as proof of being saved by praying Jesus into your heart.  First, the versus says “…believe in your heart...” not “…pray Christ into your heart...”.  Secondly, the book of Romans was written to the Christians at Rome: Romans 1:7-8.  It was not written to the unbelievers in Rome.

Finally, they were already baptized in Romans 6:1-4, which comes before Romans 10:9

Romans 1:7-8

7 To all in Rome who are loved by God and called to be his holy people:
Grace and peace to you from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

8 First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is being reported all over the world.

Romans 6:1-4

(Dead to Sin, Alive in Christ)

What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? 2 By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? Or don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his deathWe were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.

Note: Therefore, all they lacked for salvation was belief and confession.  Do you realize that Satan knows the right way to be saved?  His plan is to deceive you by thinking all you need to do is believe, confess and repent.   The devil knows that in baptism your sins are washed away or forgiven.  He does not care if you believe, confess and repent.  He knows that you have not followed God’s complete plan of Salvation.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Acts 22:3-16

Then Paul said: 3 "I am a Jew, born in Tarsus of Cilicia, but brought up in this city. Under Gamaliel I was thoroughly trained in the law of our fathers and was just as zealous for God as any of you are today. 4 I persecuted the followers of this Way to their death, arresting both men and women and throwing them into prison, 5 as also the high priest and all the Council can testify. I even obtained letters from them to their brothers in Damascus, and went there to bring these people as prisoners to Jerusalem to be punished.  "About noon as I came near Damascus, suddenly a bright light from heaven flashed around me. 7 I fell to the ground and heard a voice say to me, 'Saul! Saul! Why do you persecute me?'   8 " 'Who are you, Lord?' I asked.    " 'I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom you are persecuting,' he replied. 9 My companions saw the light, but they did not understand the voice of him who was speaking to me.  10 "'What shall I do, Lord?' I asked.      "'Get up,' the Lord said, 'and go into Damascus. There you will be told all that you have been assigned to do.' 11 My companions led me by the hand into Damascus, because the brilliance of the light had blinded me.  12 "A man named Ananias came to see me. He was a devout observer of the law and highly respected by all the Jews living there. 13 He stood beside me and said, 'Brother Saul, receive your sight!' And at that very moment I was able to see him.  14 "Then he said: 'The God of our fathers has chosen you to know his will and to see the Righteous One and to hear words from his mouth. 15 You will be his witness to all men of what you have seen and heard. 16 And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away, calling on his name.'

Note: Saul was sincerely wrong in his former beliefs.  He needed to be baptized even after:

  1) Religious experience
  2) Repentance – three days of praying and fasting (Acts 9:9) For three days he was
blind, and did not eat or drink anything.
  3) Confess – Saul confessed Christ as Lord two times on the Damascus Road.

Acts 8:35-39

35 Then Philip began with that very passage of Scripture and told him the good news about Jesus.  36 As they traveled along the road, they came to some water and the eunuch said, "Look, here is water. Why shouldn't I be baptized?". 38 And he gave orders to stop the chariot. Then both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water and Philip baptized him39 When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord suddenly took Philip away, and the eunuch did not see him again, but went on his way rejoicing.

Note: The Eunuch eagerly sought answers.  He was urgent in wanting to baptized.  The good news about Jesus included being baptized.  We say this because the eunuch wanted to be baptized after Philip told him the good news about Jesus.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Galatians 3:26-27

(Sons of God)

26 You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus, 27 for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1 Peter 3:21-22

21 and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also—not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a good conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ, 22 who has gone into heaven and is at God's right hand—with angels, authorities and powers in submission to him.

Note: Baptism does save you by the resurrection of Jesus.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Colossians 2:12

12 having been buried with him in baptism and raised with him through your faith in the power of God, who raised him from the dead.

Note: You must have your own faith at baptism, not your parents’.  A baby has no faith, therefore does not need to be baptized.

ADDITIONAL SCRIPTURES:

Acts 8:12

12 But when they believed Philip as he preached the good news of the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Acts 16:15

15 When she and the members of her household were baptized, she invited us to her home. "If you consider me a believer in the Lord," she said, "come and stay at my house." And she persuaded us.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Acts 16:25-33

25 About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. 26 Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everybody's chains came loose. 27 The jailer woke up, and when he saw the prison doors open, he drew his sword and was about to kill himself because he thought the prisoners had escaped. 28 But Paul shouted, "Don't harm yourself! We are all here!"  29 The jailer called for lights, rushed in and fell trembling before Paul and Silas. 30 He then brought them out and asked, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?"  31 They replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household." 32 Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all the others in his house. 33 At that hour of the night the jailer took them and washed their wounds; then immediately he and all his family were baptized.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Acts 18:8

Crispus, the synagogue ruler, and his entire household believed in the Lord; and many of the Corinthians who heard him believed and were baptized.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Acts 19:5

5 On hearing this, they were baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus.

Note: The “Sinner’s Pray” is no where in the Bible.  This is a rule taught by man and
          not by God.

                          MORE FALSE TEACHING ON SALVATION:

I)   THIEF ON THE CROSS
(If the thief was not baptized, then we do not need to be baptized.)

      A)  Jesus has the power while on earth to forgive people of their sins directly.

Mark 2:10 10 But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins . . . ." He said to the paralytic,

Note: Did Jesus personally tell you your sins were forgiven?  Of course not.  You need to be
baptized in the name of The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

      B) The thief lived under the old covenant, which was not superseded until the
         death of Jesus.

Hebrews 9:15
15 For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance—now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant.

      C)  Baptism is sharing in Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection.  How could the thief
have done this if Jesus was still alive when he pardons him?

 Romans 6:1-4

Dead to Sin, Alive in Christ What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? Or don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.

II)   SALVATION BY “FAITH ALONE”

        A)  James 2:24-26 24 You see that a person is justified by what he does and not by faith alone.  25 In the same way, was not even Rahab the prostitute considered righteous for what she did when she gave lodging to the spies and sent them off in a different direction? 26 As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.

III)   ONCE SAVED, ALWAYS SAVED
         A) Hebrews 6:4-6 4 It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age, 6 if they fall away, to be brought back to repentance, because to their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hebrews 10:26-31

26 If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, 27 but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God. 28 Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29 How much more severely do you think a man deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God under foot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace? 30 For we know him who said, "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," and again, "The Lord will judge his people." 31 It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2 Peter 2:20-22

20 If they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and are again entangled in it and overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning. 21 It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them. 22 Of them the proverbs are true: "A dog returns to its vomit,"and, "A sow that is washed goes back to her wallowing in the mud."

We hope this information helps you understand the truth about salvation.  Please don’t let pride stand in your way of being right with God.  We must be meek & humble to find the truth about God’s Plan of Salvation. We must obey God rather than man. Peace, Love, and Joy.

GOD’S COMPLETE PLAN OF SALVATION:

1)  Hear the Word: Romans 10:17 17 Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ.

2)  Believe the Gospel:  Acts 8: 37                                                                                37 Philip said, "If you believe with all your heart, you may." The eunuch answered, "I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God."

3)  Repent of your Sins: Luke 13: 3 - 5 I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish. Or those eighteen who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them—do you think they were more guilty than all the others living in Jerusalem? I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish."

4) Confess Christ as Lord:  Romans 10: 9 9 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved

5) Be Baptized (Immersed In Water): Acts 2: 38  38 Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Acts 22:16 16 And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away, calling on his name.'

ENOCH 94: 1 - 4

1. And now I say to you, my children, love righteousness and walk in it;
For the paths of righteousness are worthy of acceptance, But the paths of unrighteousness will quickly be destroyed and vanish.

2. And to certain men of a generation shall the paths of violence and of death be revealed, And they shall hold themselves afar from them, And shall not follow them.

3. And now I say to you, the righteous: do not walk in the wicked path, or in wrong doing, or in the paths of death, and do not draw near to them, or you may be destroyed.

4. But seek and choose for yourselves, righteousness, and a life that is pleasing and walk in the paths of peace so that you may live and prosper.
